The Kiwis Can't Be Tamed - Luna Rossa V ETNZ - Louis Vuitton Cup - RR4, Race 1

There is no keeping Emirates Team New Zealand down as they again wiped the race course with Luna Rossa in the tenth race of the Louis Vuitton Cup Round Robin Series The Kiwis flew off the start line in close to 40 knots of boat speed and completed the 15.43-nautical-mile course in 46 minutes, 53 seconds.
ETNZ won the race by DNF when Luna Rossa failed to finish within the 5 minute time limit. The silver clad Italians had been closing the gap against Emirates Team New Zealand but seemed off the pace today.

It is unclear if Luna Rossa performance woes had anything to do with a damaged rudder identified when the boat was launched ahead of the race that required immediate repair.

Today's victory ensures the Kiwi team will win the round robin portion of the Louis Vuitton Cup, the America’s Cup Challenger Series. They have earned the right to elect whether they advance directly to the Louis Vuitton Cup Final or select their opponent for the semi-final round.
