London 2012 Olympic Games – Australian Sailing Preview – Day 7 – Saturday 4 August

There will be plenty of action in the Laser and Laser Radial fleets on Saturday as crews try and qualify for the final medal races.

The Women’s Match Racing round robin will be concluded, with the 470 men’s, 470 women’s and RS:X fleets continuing racing. The 49er fleet have a lay day before the final four races, with the Finn and Star fleets off the water before Sunday’s first medal races.

Australian Results from Friday:

49er – Nathan Outteridge & Iain Jensen – 9/5/4 – 42 points – 1st overall
Laser – Tom Slingsby – 15/1 – 23 points – 1st overall
470 men – Mathew Belcher & Malcolm Page – 2/1 – 12 points – 2nd overall
470 women – Elise Rechichi & Belinda Stowell – 14/7 – 21 points – 11th overall
Laser Radial – Krystal Weir – 7/12 – 95 points – 12th overall
Finn – Brendan Casey – 9/5 – 106 points – 13th overall
Women’s Match Racers Olivia Price, Nina Curtis and Lucinda Whitty had a lay day and remain first overall
Jessica Crisp had a lay day and is 12th in the RS:X women’s class
