Chew Places 13th At Etchell Worlds In Sydney

Tom King won the Etchell Worlds followed by Graeme Taylor in second and then America's Cup hero John Bertrand with Tom Slingsby finished third but Queensland's Matthew Chew, Owner/Skipper of Gen XY with Darren Jones onboard as his tactician was the best placed Queenslander amongst the 74 strong fleet.

"Gen XY had a tough regatta and finished well below our expectations. However we had some good races to show what is possible but we really needed more time to put our campaign together and also more time out on the water," Matthew Chew said.

"I can't wait to do it all again as a young owner I have the time. Darren 'Twirler' Jones was great and for him learning to look outside the boat was a whole new experience."
