The Beneteau First 45's had a great day today while the IRC Grand Prix boats suffered. Local school kids from Port Lincoln Primary School joined several crew including 2010 and 2011 Rolex Sydney to Hobart IRC 3 Division Champions Victoire.

Darryl Hodgkinson and his highly experienced crew were able to impart some knowledge to Daniel, 10, who has joined the crew for the regatta. What an experience for a new member of the sailing fraternity for his first time yacht racing who has been rigged out in a full crew uniform. Not a bad introduction to the sport given these guys have racked up over 70 Sydney Hobart races between then all and not to mention their incredible regatta success over the past two seasons..

Victorie finished the day with a bullet and a second while nearest rival, Reverie, also a Beneteau First 45 achieved a second and a first.

Line Honours winners in the long race from Adelaide to Port Lincoln, Scarlet Runner clocked up two thirds while Secret Men's Business struggled to get their crew work in sync and only managed a fourth and a sixth.
Overall though it's not looking so bad for the Reichel Pugh's that are only foot apart in length
