The Spanish and the Swedes continued to dominate racing at Audi MedCup Barcelona today in light 8-10 knot tricky wind conditions.

RÁN built their first race victory from a beautifully executed start at the committee boat end of the start line, crossing on port to lead out to the right side of the course and earn the best of the advantage on the right. RÁN, Quantum and Synergy then led the charge to the right, and at the windward mark, Zennstrom's crew had the lead.

Despite being one of the oldest boats (2009) in the fleet, Bribon stepped up with pure boat speed and sharp tactical choices. The Spaniards were right at home in the light southerly breeze and in the second race of the day they charged off the start line to grab the edge within a minute of the gun.

They stayed on the preferred left hand side of the race course with RÁN and Container in hot pursuit. The fleet followed the lay-line behind the Spaniards who accelerated away in conditions that their boat is a proven performer in.

A hundred meters from the leeward gate Bribon opted for the buoy on the left while Quantum Racing was the only one choose the right. The Swedes held their position while both teams fought to maintain their position as their pursuers chased hard in the second upwind leg from the middle of the course.

With a 45 second margin Bribon set their spinnaker for the for downwind leg. Behind RÁN Synergy managed to slip in front of Container at the windward mark.
