Synergy Take First Race In Light Air at Audi MedCup in Cartagena

The wind was just a whisper for the first race of the day and in 5-7 knots of sea breeze the Russian team, Synergy, racked up their first win of the regatta in the 52 Series.
Synergy was off to a good start at the pin end of the start line as their Kiwi tactician, Rod Dawson read the windshifts and changes in wind pressure brilliantly.  They led Bribón around the first mark and on the second beat a bigger left hand wind shift allowed the leading pair to pull away from the rest of the fleet.

Synergy continued their dominance for the rest of the race and crossed the finish line ahead of Bribón, followed by circuit leaders Quantum Racing and ALL4One in fourth.
