Mirsky's America's Cup Dream Up In The Air

Looks like Australia's Torvar Mirsky has lost his America's Cup gig after today's announcement that Venezia Challenge have pulled out of the competition. Mirsky's appointment as Helmsman was only announced in June.

The official line is that the Italian consortium defaulted on meeting the necessary requirements to compete in both the America’s Cup World Series and the 34th America’s Cup. Lack of funding is at the core of the team's withdrawal.

The first America’s Cup World Series regatta kicks off in Cascais, Portugal is less than two weeks.

The talented Mirsky has a pretty full dance card competing in the World Match Racing Tour and Extreme Sailing Series. The question now is which America's Cup team will snap him up now he is back on the market?
